ARTIST STATEMENT
I moved from Melbourne, Australia to Savannah GA in January 2015. Not knowing anyone here I signed up to pottery workshops at Savannah Clay Spot as a way to feel part of a creative community here in Savannah. Having a design background it’s important to me to surround myself with creative people. The clay community in Savannah has been my home away from home! Once I started pottery classes I was hooked and haven’t stopped making since.
In early 2017 I was fortunate to be approached by a friend to help him make plates for his restaurants, and since then I fell in love with the notion of being able to create a handmade sensorial experience whether it be eating off a handmade plate or bowl or drinking coffee out of a handmade mug. The joy and fulfillment I receive from people who appreciate the process of handmade and how it makes them feel when they use my product drives me to continue to offer a piece of my creative make to the world.
