JILLIAN LUSE
ARTIST STATEMENT
The more I practice art, the more it remains in my consciousness. It’s a haunting process that reflects in content. I focus on the development of work and later recognize its meaning, without being bound by a certain style. I draw inspiration from faith and life, using a variety of materials to render what I see and experience.
Line, shape, and color are common elements in all of my work. While these are the most basic elements one can use, I see how many ways I can manipulate them to represent different ideas and themes. Simple and lovely are two words I would like to describe my work and life, always balancing function, form, decoration, and design.
