SAVANNAH POTTERY TOUR

Savannah’s Hidden Kilns Revealed:Inaugural Citywide Pottery Tour & Sale

April 18–19, 2026

SAVANNAH, GA — January 5, 2026 — The rich ceramic artistry of the Hostess City will come alive this spring as the Savannah Clay Community announces the inaugural Savannah Pottery Tour & Sale, taking place April 18–19, 2026.
This self-guided, citywide tour invites the public behind the scenes of Savannah’s most vibrant home studios and community clay spaces. From the moss-draped avenues of the Isle of Hope to the eclectic creative hub of the Starland District, eight local ceramic studios will open their doors for a weekend celebrating handmade pottery and process.
Visitors will experience a wide range of work, including functional wares, sculptural installations, and garden art—while meeting the artists who make Savannah a quiet but thriving hub for ceramics.
“Savannah has long been a haven for ceramic artists, but much of the work happens behind closed doors,” says Jessica Broad, local potter and founder of the Savannah Clay Community. “This tour is about breaking down those walls. It’s a chance for the community to see exactly how a lump of Georgia clay becomes a finished pot—and to buy directly from the hand that made it.”
Event Highlights
  • Studio demonstrations
Live demonstrations, including wheel throwing and hand-building, will take place at select studios throughout the weekend.
  • Pottery sale
A wide range of ceramic work will be available for purchase, from accessible gift items to high-end collector pieces. Featured work includes locally dug clay pieces, gas-fired stoneware, and fine porcelain.
The Savannah Pottery Tour is designed to be easily navigated by bike or car. A digital map, along with artist bios and previews of available work, will be available at savannahclaycommunity.com ahead of the event.
